Brazilian and Greek frigates visiting Dubrovnik port - Gruž

Within the framework of bilateral military cooperation with the Croatian Navy of Federal Republic of Brazil, frigate "Liberal" , sailed on 21 August 2014 in the port of Dubrovnik- Gruz, during a visit to the Navy and the city of Dubrovnik, after returning from the UN mission in Lebanon, where it performed the task of preventing the smuggling of arms and training for the Lebanese Navy.
Brazilian frigate "Liberal", built in 1978, is one of six class frigate "Niterói" RM SR Brazil. Class frigates "Niteroi" represents the strongest and most important vessels in the Brazilian Navy, the largest navy in Latin America.
The length of the frigate "Liberal" is 130 meters, it is 13.5 meters long, with draft 5.5 meters. 
The crew consists 264 members, and the captain of the ship is Mr. Jose Augusto Silva Ferreira. 
Program of the visit includes meetings with the representatives of the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik – Neretva County. 
During the first visit to port of Dubrovnik general manager of the Port Authority, Mr. Antun Asic, welcomed the crew and exchanges appropriate plaque with commander of frigate.
In Dubrovnik, the Brazilian frigate stayed until August 25, 2014. 
On 23 August 2014, frigate "Liberal" joinedother two warships of the Greek Navy; frigate "Nikiforos Fokas" and "Lesbos". 
130 meters long frigate "Nikiforos Fokas," is one of ten in class of "Elli", built in Dutch shipyard.
Lesbos is the ship for amphibious operations, usually used to transport tanks and infantry. This ship is 116 meters long and is one of six in class of "Jason". It was built in Greece in 1999. 
Ships are sailing the Mediterranean with 150 cadets of the Navy in the practical part of the training.
