This year Dubrovnik Port Authority welcomed the millionth passenger, two
days earlier than in 2017. Michaela from Germany sailed with the boat
"Mein Schiff 2" and was ‘’kidnapped’’ by the Gentle Pirates of
Dubrovnik, welcoming her to the city "where even the pirates are
gentlemen".
After the negotiations, the Dubrovnik Port Authority redeemed the captured princess and she was warmly welcomed with gifts and bouquet of flowers. Michaela reveal that this is not her first visit to Dubrovnik, but it is certainly the most memorable.
The captain of "Mein Schiff 2", Mr. Helge Wrage, joined the celebration, also pleasantly surprised by such a ceremonial welcome.
The port of Gruž recorded 312 cruise calls so far this year and 128 more are announced to visit until the end of the year. It is important to emphasize that 6 cruise vessels were welcomed to the destination for the first time, and one more new arrival is expected in December, m/s Nieuw Statendam.
