Millionth passenger at the Port of Dubrovnik - 2018

This year Dubrovnik Port Authority welcomed the millionth passenger, two days earlier than in 2017. Michaela from Germany sailed with the boat "Mein Schiff 2" and was ‘’kidnapped’’ by the Gentle Pirates of Dubrovnik, welcoming her to the city "where even the pirates are gentlemen".

WELCOME MARELLA DISCOVERY 2

Last Wednesday morning Dubrovnik port welcomed the latest inaugural call by cruise ship Marella Discovery 2.

Built in 1995 she was operated by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as m/v Legend of the Seas until sold to Thomson Cruises in 2016 and re-branded into Marella Cruises last year. The ship is a Vision Class cruise vessel of 69,472 GT, length of 264 metres, guest capacity of approx. 1830 passengers and 720 crew members.

Dubrovnik - the top cruise destination of the Eastern Mediterranean by Cruise Critic

According to the specialized cruise website Cruise Critic, Dubrovnik was declared the best cruise destination in the Eastern Mediterranean category for the second year in a row. The significance of the Cruisers' Choice Destination Awards is even greater when you know that the destinations were chosen by the users of this popular website and cruise travel enthusiasts, which describe Dubrovnik with many positive comments, saying it is a desirable cruising destination of an exceptionally rich cultural and historical heritage. Behind Dubrovnik, in the mentioned category, there were Kotor, Venice, Santorini and Rhodes.

Viking Orion Maiden Call at the Port of Dubrovnik

Viking Ocean Cruises’ newest ship, the Viking Orion,called in Dubrovnik on Thursday 28th June. Dubrovnik Port Authority put together a welcome ceremony for the cruise ship's maiden call. Representatives of Dubrovnik Port Authority exchanged plaques with the Captain Anders Steen during a ceremony onboard.
