Orient Express Corinthian Makes Its First Visit to Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik welcomed the Orient Express Corinthian on Saturday, August 22, marking the luxury vessel’s first visit to the city. The arrival of the newest addition to the Orient Express brand brings a new dimension of luxury travel to the Adriatic – combining the privacy of a luxury yacht, the comfort of a five-star hotel and the exclusivity of a bespoke cruise.

Dubrovnik is one of the highlights of Corinthian’s inaugural Adriatic itinerary, which connects Valletta, Otranto, Dubrovnik, Hvar, Rovinj and Venice. Following its stay in Dubrovnik, the vessel continues to Hvar and Rovinj before concluding its journey in Venice on August 26. Exclusive experiences and specially curated programmes have been designed for guests at each destination.

To mark the vessel’s first arrival in Dubrovnik, a traditional plaque exchange ceremony with Captain Rémi Gevenaz was held on board. The ceremony was attended by Maro Saulović, representing Gulliver DMC, Ana Hrnić, Head of the City of Dubrovnik’s Administrative Department for Tourism, Sports and Youth, and Jelka Tepšić, Deputy Director of the Port Authority of Dubrovnik.

The Orient Express Corinthian is the first vessel in the new Orient Express Sailing Yachts fleet, a project developed by Orient Express, the luxury hospitality and travel brand within the Accor group, in partnership with LVMH. The concept introduces a new vision of travel in which luxury is found not only in the destination, but also in the journey itself – with a limited number of guests, personalized service and access to destinations from a unique perspective.

Measuring 220 metres in length, the Corinthian accommodates just 110 guests in 54 suites, creating an intimate and exclusive atmosphere more reminiscent of a private yacht than a traditional cruise ship.

Among the vessel’s most distinctive features are its three large SolidSail rigid sails, designed to harness wind power, combined with a hybrid propulsion system. The Corinthian was built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, while its interiors were designed by French designer Maxime d’Angeac, drawing inspiration from French elegance and Mediterranean Art Deco.

On board, guests can enjoy restaurants and bars, spa and wellness facilities, swimming pools, a fitness centre, cultural and entertainment spaces, as well as a private marina offering a range of water activities.

The Corinthian is designed for the ultra-luxury travel market, catering to guests who value privacy, exceptional gastronomy, exclusive experiences and highly personalized service. With only 110 guests on board, the intimate scale is at the heart of the concept, offering an experience closer to travelling aboard a private superyacht than a conventional cruise.
